EL PERRO (The Dog, 2004), is directed by Carlos Sorín, maybe best known for Historias Minimas.
I really liked El Perro, even though I did not understand everything the characters said. The dog is maybe excused.
I think Sorín has a sense for creating protagonists who can stand out as concrete moral questions to the world. In this film he use the dog as a metaphor for how the society tend to take care of people.
The film has warm characters fronted in a lot colder atmospheres in south Argentina - and the photography takes care of both kinds of landscapes. This make it a fascinating and visual enjoyable film.
